Here it is, boys and girls, Bang Tango's first studio album in a decade...or is it? Well yes, according to the name of the cover, but according to the lineup, this is Beautiful Creatures using the Bang Tango name. This album was released about two months ago, on Shrapnel Records, a small indie label. As far as sound? This is sort of between early Bang Tango and Beautiful Creatures. There aren't any funky bass likes like in "Someone Like You" or "Untied And True." Are you ready to go?

1) Ready To Go is the perfect title for this song, as it gets you ready to go for this album. I would easily classify this as one of Bang Tango's better songs to date. This song has hard rock lyrics like "Couldn't get enough of that little senorita/should'a said no to that last margarita." Anthony Focx should play lead guitar more often.

Score: 10/10

2) I Came To See You shows a sound closer to earlier Bang Tango. This is definetely closer to the earlier Bang Tango sound than the opener. But it's got the modern (not nu-metaly or grungy) edge which Beautiful Creatures possessed. This isn't earth shattering, but it's still a cool song.
-------------------
Score: 8/10

3) It Ain't Easy to think of this as a Bang Tango song except for Joe Leste's distinct vocal delivery. More mellow than the previous songs. You know what else ain't easy? Getting into this song, I'm sorry, but this really doesn't click.
-------------------
Score: 5/10

4) Rainy Day makes up for the last song. A ballad in the vein of Beautiful Creatures. Forget about "It Ain't Easy." This song is way better. This has some piano playing in the background which adds magic to the song.
-------------------
Score: 10/10

5) The Other Day is more Beautiful Creatures-like. Both lyrics and music are very Beautiful Creatures. Cool song.
-------------------
Score: 8/10

6) She Knows Better is more Bang Tango-like. The guitar riffs are very reminiscent of Dancin' On Coals, while Joe's got the stronger vocal delivery as seen in Beautiful Creatures. After the lead solo, there is a very Bang Tango-like bass line. I thought there wouldn't be any on this album after hearing the first five songs.
-------------------
Score: 9/10

7) Roll Me Over is where things start to get more mellow. Reminiscent of "New Orleans" from the Beautiful Creatures album. Something to listen to if you're not in the mood for crazy head banging, or in the mood for a ballad.
-------------------
Score: 7/10

8) Save Myself is like Beautiful Creatures with a very slightly modern feel. The tempo is very fast in the verses, and slows down just a little bit during the chorus. That's kind of cool the way they do that.
-------------------
Score: 8/10

9) Love The Life is awful bluesy for Bang Tango or Beautiful Creatures, but yet you still know who this really is. Thanks to our very own Joe Leste. Not one of the better songs here, but not the worst either.
-------------------
Score: 7/10

10) Most Important Thing is another ballad. It's almost as good as "Rainy Day." A lot of times when a band does more than one ballad on an album, one is great, the other one sucks. That is so not the case here. This is done very well, still not quite as good as "Rainy Day." That isn't saying much, because that song is awesome, and so is this.
-------------------
Score: 9/10

11) Tell Me why this band can't get back their worldwide deal, because this ranks right up there with the best songs here, "Ready To Go" and "Rainy Day." It's borderline between a ballad and a rocker, with some distorted guitar, not overly distorted, kinda how the second half of this album has been, and with some electric guitar picking in the background.
-------------------
Score: 10/10

12) Carry On is a pretty good, but not great way to finish the album. It's got the same feeling as "Tell Me" and not done quite as well. Don't take that negatively, because the album is still finished well, awfully mellow but still okay.
-------------------
Score: 8/10

Comments:

Most of the time, calling this "Bang Tango" is sort of pushing it, as most of the time, there's no funky bass lines like that of classic Bang Tango. The second half of this album is pretty mellow, maybe that was the reason they called this Bang Tango. This is not as heavy as Beautiful Creatures at all, but a lot of those songs have those feel, as Anthony Focx and Matt Starr from Beautiful Creatures play on this album. Still a really good album, has some really awesome songs.
