TOXIC HEART

Glam/Hard Rock from Slovenia ! - HQ (home base for rehearsals) is where it all began in 2007. The main reasons for forming this band were the same for all four members, ie, create the best songs, with the best hooks, giving their fans the best positive good feeling to remember. No matter what the odds, in their blood was the essence of great musicians, just waiting to pool their talents together and ROCK!!

The band ( at that point Mike, Rider, Mogy ) then locked themselves into HQ for the next ten days, (food and water provided by friends, family, and the local Red Cross) not once leaving until they emerged with at least 6 new songs which just needed a powerful vocalist, one who could bring their wonderful songs and vision to life. Enter Axl !! The missing piece of the puzzle had arrived.

During live-shows, the band felt the public's great response to their new music, and became highly motivated to take the band to the next level. They recorded a new song, 'Ride Your Life', and added a video to it.

'Ride Your Life' is more than just a song title, it is a motto for any generation whether young or older. What ever age you are at right now, could be 'The best age of your life'. Sometimes you just have to let go and 'Ride Your Life', and not let your life ride you. This good feeling is what the band is attempting to spread. This is their music - great, catchy, and memorable hook laden songs, coupled with fantastic musicianship with a great positive message. Truly, what the world is really in need of today!

RNR: First thing's first, Rock-n-Radio.com would like to give a warm welcome to Mike lead guitarist from Toxic Heart!

MIKE: Thank you! It's our pleasure!

RNR: I understand that your debut album is out now.  Tell us how that feels!

MIKE: Allthough I have released one album with 7th Angel  in 2007 this one feels really good. It's a step up for us and the album is exactly what we wanted it to be. We love it and we're sure you'll love it too!

RNR: How long did it take you to complete the album?

MIKE: I think it all happened really fast since the band was formed in December 2006, kiceked off a small Slovenian tour in 2007 and after that we went into the studio. We were there for 2 or 3 weeks - I'm not quite sure haha and did those 11 kickass songs!

RNR: What inspired you to get into music in the first place?l_675442ccc66a5a8fd2a70e4a8a7587ec.jpg

MIKE: Music itself! The feeling that music gives you, the way it makes you feel while you listen to it and in the way you can express with music - there's no other way. If the picture tells 1000 words, music tells million of them!

RNR: Which artists would you say had the biggest influence on you?

MIKE: Uff, there's so many great bands out there it wouldn't be fair to only name few :)  Anyway, here we go; I started off with Iron Maiden, been a fan for years now and still love the band. Then all the LA scene from GNR to Motley Crue, Kiss and any more and as a guitarist I would go with Zakk Wylde, Dimbag, Gilbert, Morse.... At this moment I'm really into "twang" country - Alber Lee style - you gotta love it!

RNR: At what age did you decide to be a musician?

MIKE: I think I started playing when I was 13yrs old and just took it from there. I've had my first shows when I was 14 - boy we sucked! Haha. After that life just lead the way. I knew I wanted to play guitar and make music. It's the best job in the world and it would be even better if we could make a living out of it hahaha.

RNR: How do you feel about the current state of the music scene in Slovenia?

MIKE: I think it's shitty. Don't kill me, just my opinion. If I pull together all the bands, sheeesh there's so many sucky bands you can't even imagine. We do have some really good ones - friends of ours, Last Day Here, are really good and kicking it off really well. There are some more but not my cup of tea. The scene itself is not supportive enough, too many jealousy, everyone is the best and shit like that. Well you know, we all grow up at some point of time :)

RNR: Actually, tell us about Slovenia.  I honestly hadn't heard of it until I received your press kit.

MIKE: Slovenia is beautiful.  I've been all over Europe and haven't seen anything like our country. We're really small, only 2mil population in central Europe, south of Germany and west of Italy. Here we have everything - Seaside, mountains, all four seasons the way they should be. Food is excellent and the landscape is just breathtaking!

RNR: What do you think of the following fellow European bands?Afbeelding2.jpg

Glorious Bankrobbers:  Never heard of them....Sorry guys will google you today!
Crazy Lixx: Good band - I came acroos them in last few days. Nice vibe!
Crashdiet: Amazing - I've been a fan for years and really felt bad for Dave. Reall good songs and my money is on them!
Vains of Jenna:  Not so familiar with the band so I can say much.
Danger: Good shit!

RNR: How did you all come together as a band?

MIKE: We started off by forming this band to go on tour cause there was an open slot and my other bands were too expensive to go, so me and Rider formed it with Mogy - funny huh?=:) From there on it just started happening.

RNR: What other bands have members of Toxic Heart played in?

MIKE: Before that I was playing with 7th Angel and One Out Of Hell and some other smaller bands and projects. I think Rider is fresh, Axl had million bands as well I guess and Mogy was fresh like Rider. When GG replaced Mogy - well here's a CV - he was playing with a lot of different "famous" singers and bands here in Slovenia so I think he has the most experience.

RNR: Were there any significant inspirations behind any of the songs on the album?

MIKE: Just the way we live. We just wanted to put the message out that life is beautiful and stay positive. You can accomplish everything you want if you put you mind and soul into it. This album is about what we went through in the last two years - add a little funny stuff and spice things up and here you go - Ride Your Life.

RNR: You made a video for "Ride Your Life."  What was it like making a video?

MIKE: Real fun and hard as well. The stage you see in the video - we made it our selves. That was so hard, 10 days of hard work for only few minutes of video haha. At the end it was worth it. We filmed it for 2 days here in our hometown and the couple of miles away at the pool. Thank to Kramer guitars who sent us guitars for the video!

RNR: Do you have a favorite song on Ride Your Life?

MIKE: I would go with Makin Me Bad. It's my top song cause if the groove, melody and lead guitar :)

RNR: My favorite Toxic Heart song right now is "Ride Your Life."  That song really puts me in a good mood.  Is there any message that you want to put out there, not just behind that particular song, but in general for the world to read?

MIKE: If you listened to RYL you got the message. This whole album has kind of same idea - from falling in love to parties
and one night stands (laugh). I think RYL is the song that really captures the band's vibe and idea.

RNR: What are the plans right now for the band as far as touring? Any plans for US tour?

MIKE: So far there's a lot of talking but no solid deals on the table. We would love to come and tour US, Europe and Japan! We're getting new shows every month but nothing is yet confirmed about US tour. Keep you fingers crossed so someone from
a big label will fall in love in the band and send us out there!

RNR: Is there anything else you feel the need to throw out there?

MIKE: Check out our website at www.myspace.com/toxicheartofficial and order a copy of our new album. You'll love!
